faqs

What should i expect on my first RMT visit?
Prior to visiting the clinic you will be sent a health history intake form via email. Each patient is required to complete this form prior to their appointment, this will decrease the time taken for your initial intake. Please arrive on time at the clinic, your therapist will greet you at the front door and escort you into the private treatment room. Your RMT will then begin the consultation and comprehensive assessment where they will discuss your health history (injuries, surgeries, medications) areas of pain or discomfort and goals for treatment. From this assessment, they will devise a treatment plan specific to your needs and ask you for consent to treatment. This process generally takes approximately 10-15min and is included in your appointment time.

Once the consultation is complete your therapist will address clothing/draping options for your treatment, ensuring your privacy and comfort. Your RMT will then exit the room, allowing you to prepare as discussed. Before reentering the room your therapist will knock and ask if you are ready to begin.

During treatment your RMT will check in with you regarding pressure, areas of pain and comfort level. Once the session concludes your RMT will leave the room, allow you to get off the table and dress in private. Upon their return they will ask how you are feeling and suggest some home care to compliment the treatment. This may include stretches, strengthening, applying ice or heat. Your therapist may propose further appointments based on the initial treatment plan.

How much time should I book for my first appointment?
We recommend booking a minimum of 60min for your first appointment. This allows for a thorough assessment followed by approx 45min of hands on treatment time.
Do you offer direct billing to extended health care plans?
At this time we do not offer direct billing. All patients are required to pay for treatments up front and submit their receipts to their insurance plans for reimbursement.
Do you accept ICBC claims?
Yes we accept ICBC claims, however we do not offer direct billing on your behalf. All treatments must be paid upfront and receipts submitted to your adjustor for reimbursement.
Do you accept WCB (workers compensation board) claims?
No we do not accept WCB claims.
Do you offer pregnancy massage?
Yes we are pleased to treat all stages of pregnancy. Pregnancy pillows will be provided so treatment maybe performed with the patient laying on their stomach comfortably and safely.
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
You can modify or cancel your appointments through your profile via our booking site. Please make sure to make any changes within the 24 hr cancellation window.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes we have a 24 cancellation policy in affect. Your treatment time is reserved for you, in order to respect the therapist time and wage, we enforce a minimum of 24hrs notice. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in full payment of treatment cost.
